16X Aurora AC16251, SSD thermal shield

Hi. I've recently purchased a 16X Aurora, and want to add a second SSD (the one currently in place is a 2230). Dell have been unable to identify the thermal pad/shield needed, eventually sending me to their upgrades contractor who advised coming here.

Dell tech support have said explicitly that the drive has to match the form factor of the one already in place in order not to affect my warranty (makes no sense to me, but I think they were reading from the online product manual). Oddly, there is no screw in place for a second 2230, but there is for a 2280 (and it's too small for the 2230 position).

Can anyone advise if the parts for earlier Aurora will fit? Also if there is any justification at all in insisting on the same form factor?

I had the 16x that came with a 2tb 2280 ssd on the right side. Not sure about the warrenty part, but the empty ssd slot on the left side had a double screw ( a silver screw that screws on top of the black bottom screw ). I used these screws to keep my new 2230 ssd in place. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the responses.  @KwFromNj was right about the double screw, although for some reason there's no screw present at the other end, so I still need one to hold the shield in place.

Monitoring the temperatures I probably don't need a shield.  If it helps anyone else, it turns out those for previous models are compatible.
