Hello again
Hmmm... according to your Aurora R1 manual it says it only supports a maximum of 16GB. You can only use 4gb or 8gb sticks in a 8gb or 16gb configuration. I thought the R1 had 6 dimm slots though. I even Googled the motherboard and it shows 6 dimm slots.
Is yours the R1?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: Ok I see what's going on. It seems the Dell site gives you an Aurora R4 manual when searching for the R1. Figures
I'm going to assume you have the correct memory for your system. To get it working you need to input the settings manually.
Hit F2 and enter the BIOS. Then open the Frequency/Voltage Control tab.
First off it can only run at 1333mhz with 24gb installed so set the memory multiplier to 10 ( 10x133=1333 ) and turn off the XMP setting. The idea here is to get it running at 1333. Your system will not support the 1600mhz speed with 24gb installed.
***Next you need to set the QPI & Uncore voltage to +200mv.**** ONLY IF IT FAILS TO BOOT WITH STOCK VOLTS!!! Try it on auto first.
Leave everything else in the BIOS on auto or whatever it's default value is. In other words don't touch anything else.
Save and exit.
That should be it. Let me know if it works or not please. Don't try overclocking your CPU until you know for sure that your new memory is working and is stable. Use it for a minimum of a few days before trying to OC the CPU.

Yes, your board supports 24gb at 1333 speed. The issue I first had was when I look up your specification manual it gave me the R4. Try it and you will get the same. I just reported the issue so it should be fixed soon.
Just follow the steps I listed for you. You basically just need to change the memory multiplier to 10 and disable XMP. If that does not work then you change the Uncore volts to +200. Make sure XMP is disabled or it will never work.

well... my mainboad should support max 24 gb of ram (@1333mhz) do you mean 16 gb@ 1600mhz? if not it should support. At least i was told like that when i bought it.
Thanks for your respond

So you are suggesting me to use 24 gb @1333mhz instead of 12 gb @1600mhz. If I use 1333mhz do i change anything in bios?(sorry for so many questions but i have no knowledge about overclocking) :)

You're welcome
Everyday tasks and gaming will never use 12gb of memory let alone 24gb. So for that the speed is what matters. If you do run something that needs that much memory then the 24gb would be better. You can never really tell the difference in speed going from 1333mhz to 1600mhz or more. You pretty much need a benchmark to see it.
I like using faster memory myself. My system supports up to 12gb but I still run the faster 6gb because it's more then enough for what I do. I have never used all 6gbs in my Area 51. The day I do I will upgrade to 12gb 1600mhz.

Thank you very much for your reply. I will try and let you know if that works. By the way which is better 24 gb @1333mhz or 12 gb @1600mhz?

Yes
And you know you may be able to just install the memory and have it work without changing any settings. 1600mhz memory is really just 1333 that is overclocked. It may run at 1333mhz when installed. Ether way you need to open the BIOS and check it and turn off the XMP if it has it.

Ok. Thanks. By the way should i insert them respectively to the slots right? slot colors should be the same ? I mean all three rams should be insterted to white slots right?

I would use the 12gb of 1600mhz over the 24gb of 1333. That is of course if you don't use programs that need that much memory and it doesn't sound like you do.
Ether set of memory will require you to change BIOS settings especially if it's XMP because the system will try turning it on. The BIOS settings are the same for ether set except for the memory multiplier.
