R12 won't update to W11 25H2 AND remarkably also won't perform a Reset this PC....ouch
G'day, While performing a routine Window's update to 25H2 today I encountered an error message reading "we couldn't update system reserved partition". I dutifully studied and performed the usual recommendations of updating all drivers, using all the Dell diagnostic tools, using available troubleshooting tools and following sage advice found online that resulted in the removal of all the fonts files from Y:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\Fonts.
It seemed that should have taken care of things, but the problem persists. As a more aggressive approach I attempted to use Windows Settings to perform a Reset this PC using the cloud for O.S. replacement but keeping files without erasing the disk. All apps were to be erased as well. To my surprise, in spite of multiple attempts the Windows sequence begins and then ends without being able to perform the Reset.
Fortunately, I am left with the existing release, and I have no losses, but I am unable to move forward.
Any recommendations? Again, my BIOS (UEFI) is current. All updates and Dell diagnostics are good. Recent W11 updates had been uneventful. The (Disk 0 partition 1) is simple, Basic, healthy (EFI System Partition) of 100MB capacity and 100MB free space. If I perform a 'dir' for the font's directory it indicates that there is 13,711,360 bytes free. Seems like that should be adequate.
Thanks for your advice!

Hi
A little confused, but....
What I do is use Paragon Partition Manager CE.
Make the first partition viewable by changing it's drive letter to A:
Changing the RE partition to B: seems pointless, and I now don't do that.
####

Actually I had several dozen Folders and sub-Folders...

Do you actually manage a clean and total shutdown, not suspend or hibernate or anything else?
To ensure the partition(s) do not have the "DIRTY BIT" set?
Please explain in greater detail if you can.
If in doubt please ask.
