Boot from external usb-c slot (m.2 ssd)

Hello,

 I replaced the m.2 ssd and kept my older one with windows to use it as a boot drive. It is currently connected via a usb-c enclosure and I can’t seem to get bios to work and boot from it. Any suggestions?

It is not the same as Windows PE where as you can boot from external USB drive.  You will need to install the drive internally into an M.2 slot for it to boot as before.

@Chino de Oro

hello,

so what do you think is my best option for upgrading my m.2 SSD drive? Is there a way to boot from an m.2 ssd closure? Or should I just put everything on the new drive?

You cannot boot from an external closure.

Am thinking you are trying to clone your system.  If that was the case, original boot drive connected internally, and new drive can be in enclosure connects to USB.  However, replace the new drive internally before boot up with new drive.  Do not want to have two bootable drives in system.
