Black Friday and Post Christmas sales.
Which is usually/typically the biggest discount price period on the latest Alienware desktops between buying during the Black Friday period (but usually across the whole month of November) or post Christmas period (Boxing day onwards) please?
Does anyone know when the R17 launches as R16 launched last October and Dell used to bring out a new version each year. Maybe some time after launch of Intel Core 2 Ultra desktop CPUs maybe? What are people's thoughts on this please?

My personal thoughts are: shop around and keep tabs on prices by checking the sales pages once in a while.
Unless you absolutely want an Alienware, I would consider all the major OEM brands to see what the best deal is.
Also order it with what you need, don't order it with less and think you can upgrade it later as that often ends up in disappointment.
Often the deals cannot be reconfigured and you get a "deal" that is not exactly what you want.
Best advice I can give you: do your research, ask around on forums.
There's no information on any new Alienware models like an R17. Personally I would stay away from Intel based systems after the fiasco with the CPU's, but that is just me.

the R17 case will look just like R16 so do not expect new design
Dell typically changes case design every 4 model updates.
example, R13-15 (incld 15 AMD), R9-12, R5-8, R1-4
inside will be Intel Core ultra desktop cpu
On Oct. 10, 2024, Intel launched its Intel® Core™ Ultra 200S desktop processors (codenamed Arrow Lake-S), ushering in the first enthusiast desktop AI PCs. The new processors are the complete enthusiast solution, offering excellent performance in AI and content creation, powering an immersive gaming experience, and delivering landmark power reductions across everyday applications, gaming, and creation applications.
Intel Core Ultra 200S desktop processors will power the industry’s most complete and capable desktop AI PCs from the world’s top OEM partners starting October 24.
