AW3423DWF, random black screen, not working OSD + power button and unavailable technical support
Hello,
I'm currently facing some problems with my AW3424DWF monitor. I bought it in April 2024 and didn't have many problems so far until 2-3 month. At first the monitor started to turn black/off randomly. Not often. Once a day maybe once or twice a week . Normally I would just have to press the power button and it would turn on again. Yesterday it took longer then normally to get it to operate again. If I would guess 1-2 minute of waiting. Today the monitor kept staying black when I started my PC. First thought was that either my PC or monitor died. I attached my old monitor and everything was working. Then I connected the AW3424DWF again and the monitor turned on as well. At first glance everything seemed fine until I checked Power LED which was turned off. I tried to go into the OSD via the joystick but there was no response at all. I tried turning on/off the monitor via the power button but it didn't respond as well. I tried unplugging everything again or using factory reset from Dell Display and Peripheral Manager but nothing changed. So I'm currently facing a monitor that is randomly turning black and I can't enter OSD or turn the monitor on/off. It automatically turns on when I start my PC. I tried to reset any OSD locks but it didn't work either. My idea now was to contact the Dell support. For me it sounds like a hardware issue. I'm still in my 3 year warranty (bought on 20. April 2024). But it is impossible to create a help request. I tried with the Service Tag but it couldn't be found. I double and tripple checked the number and also used the express service code but without success. I also tried to search for the monitor but there is literally no Alienware monitor on the technical service request page to select from. I even tried to find new drivers via google but the link would redirect to the dell website with a short note that it can't be found. So I'm currently wondering if someone else knows something that I could try to either fix the problems with the monitor or to contact the technical support.
Kind regards,
Stefan
