AW3225QF, request to Dell, lower input lag on 60Hz and 120Hz
To the Dell Alienware Display Team,
I am writing as a proud owner of the Dell Alienware AW3225QF QD-OLED monitor. I am incredibly impressed with its stunning picture quality, vibrant colors, and lightning-fast 240Hz refresh rate. It truly offers an exceptional gaming experience, especially at its native resolution and maximum refresh rate, where the input lag is remarkably low.
However, I've noticed through extensive testing and reviews (such as those from RTINGS.com) that the input lag, particularly at 60Hz and 120Hz, is higher than what some competitors or even other OLED monitors achieve. While the 3.1ms input lag at 240Hz is outstanding, the reported 7.3ms at 120Hz (with Console Mode enabled) and 15.0ms at 60Hz are areas that could significantly improve the user experience for console gamers and those playing titles capped at lower frame rates. Many gamers, especially console players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, frequently utilize 120Hz and 60Hz modes. Optimizing the input lag at these common refresh rates would make the AW3225QF an even more versatile and competitive monitor for a wider range of gaming scenarios. I kindly request that your engineering and firmware development teams investigate these figures. Please consider releasing a firmware update that prioritizes reducing input lag at both 60Hz and 120Hz. Further optimization in these areas would solidify the AW3225QF's position as the undisputed king of gaming monitors. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to seeing continued improvements to this already fantastic product.
Sincerely,
A Loyal Alienware Customer
