AW3225QF, possible to set a custom refresh rate?
Alienware 32 4K QD OLED Gaming Monitor AW3225QF
Hello community,
I would like to limit the refresh rate to let's say 230Hz instead of 240Hz to get rid of some VRR flicker in games. It seems that the monitor has DSC enabled by default and can't be turned off and therefore it isn't possible to set a custom refresh in the Nvidia Control Panel or using tools like CRU. Did anyone manage to set a custom refresh rate somehow?

Easiest way is from within the game, and limit the maximum to 230 FPS and minimum to whatever your system can handle.
Ideally 230/228, but for that you would need to be able to keep FPS always above 228 unless you want to use VRR, but that can induce flickering in certain conditions especially on an OLED.

Hello @Vanadiel and thanks. I already tried that from the Nvidia Control Panel. I limited the FPS to 230Hz but unfortunately this does nothing. Is there really no way to set a custom refresh rate on this monitor?

@Lex89
why 230 fps? If your game is fluctuating between 180 and 240 you have to cap fps to 180 this is how you get rid of flickering. In other hand this kills the whole purpose of VRR.
Other thing, you can do any limit you want, but if game's frametime is bad it will flicker at any fps.

@Petrarca22 I am nowhere near FPS that high in new games. I average about 80-100 depending on the game. I am not looking to leave lots of FPS on the table by capping too low. I rather deal with flickering then. Also there are games where my FPS fluctuate heavily and there is no flicker whatsoever.
