AW3225QF, looks more vibrant and bright when viewed from off-angles
Hey!
I hope it's not just my case but I can visibly see that my Alienware 32 4K QD-OLED Gaming Monitor - AW3225QF looks more vibrant when looked at from a different angle than the normal (sideways and from above looking down). Is this the expected/known behavior? I know that OLEDs have perfect viewing angles but didn't know that some off angles appear to be different than the normal straight-on viewing angle. I hope I didn't get a melon and have to bother myself with going through the rigmarole of getting it replaced.

Post pictures of your AW3225QF from front facing and other angles.

@DELL-Chris M Thanks for the reply. They show the normal forward, top, and left. Hope this helps.

I do not think that there is anything wrong with this AW3225QF. If purchased directly from Dell India, refunds/returns are only permitted within the first 14 days from the delivery date.

@DELL-Chris M Thanks for the opinion! It is possible I could be overthinking it and I'm still within the return/refund window.. so I'll have to ponder over it.

@DELL-Chris M I have taken another angular photo that best represents the vibrancy difference that I'm seeing.
I was using a very saturated "color pop-off" profile so this effect was even more pronounced/visible.
Note that the photo might not properly represent what I'm seeing IRL (camera limitations). So do you have any comment on whether this behavior is expected?

@DELL-Chris M Here are the two photos in reference to my reply above.
Sharing them as Google Drive links as this platform just is not allowing me to upload them normally.

I think it is to be expected. Other AW3225QF user will need to post similar angled pictures to compare.

@DELL-Chris M Alright, if you believe so. If this is the expected behavior, then I have no qualms with it.
However, if this deviates from the expected, that's where I have a problem.
Also, I'm not sure how we can get more off-angle pictures from owner of this monitor. I can only hope that some of them will see this thread and respond accordingly!

It's clear you're not happy with the device, but not clear what other response you're looking for. If the device is within 30 days of shipment, return it for a refund and buy a monitor you'll be happy with - -it's as simple as that.

You are not mad. Same for me, the first thing I noticed is the image from big angles looks much better. Idk why this happens.

@ejn63 While I am not the happiest with the monitor -- I am not willing to go through the pain of the return/refund process in the least.
I just want confirmation from fellow users if this change in vibrance from off-angles is an expected behavior or an unexpected behavior.

@Petrarca22 Ah! Finally a kindred spirit who owns the monitor and has confirmed the same behavior.
I even spoke to Dell Support regarding this and they ended up mentioning that it is the "expected behavior". It's a shame that we can't maintain the same vibrancy at all angles but atleast I'm relieved to know that it is likely not a monitor defect.
