AW2725DM, green screen on high Hz test, severe color fringing in OSD, defective unit?

Hello everyone,

I'm writing to get some community feedback on my new Alienware AW2725DM monitor. I'm experiencing two concerning issues and I need to determine if this is normal behavior for this model or if I have received a defective unit.

Issue 1: Green Screen on Lagom Clock/Phase Test at High Refresh Rates

When I go to the Lagom LCD test website, specifically the "Clock and phase" test, the screen looks fine at 60Hz. However, when I increase the refresh rate to 120Hz or 180Hz, the entire screen develops a strong green tint.

Issue 2: Severe Chromatic Aberration / Color Fringing

There is very noticeable color fringing on text. The most critical detail here is that this issue is clearly visible within the monitor's own OSD menu. This occurs regardless of any cable or computer connected to it, which leads me to believe this is a hardware-level problem, not a software or configuration issue.

Troubleshooting and Context:

  • I have tested with both the original DisplayPort cable that came with the monitor and a different known good cable. The issues remain identical.

  • My other high refresh rate monitor, a Gigabyte G24F 2 (1080p @ 165Hz), does not exhibit either of these problems. It passes the same Lagom test at its full refresh rate without any green screen.

  • Since the color fringing is present in the OSD, it cannot be caused by GPU drivers, Windows ClearType, or color format settings.

My Questions for the Community:

  1. Can other AW2725DM owners please test the Lagom clock/phase page and confirm if your screen also turns green at high refresh rates?

  2. More importantly, do you see noticeable color fringing on the text within your monitor's OSD menu?

I need to decide whether I should return/exchange this monitor quickly. Any help or confirmation from other owners would be incredibly valuable.

Thank you for your time.
