AW2725DF, random white flash at 60 Hz
First I'm using Windows 11 23H2, and the monitor is connected to RTX 4080 through displayport with a proper cable (UGREEN 16k cable).
(G-SYNC is disabled in Nvidia Control Panel here, because I can't stand the flickering. Also, everything gets brighter when GSYNC is on even with steady framerates, so dark shades become "pale". But this is another problem......)
I normally set the monitor to 60hz when doing productivity work in order to save energy and increase panel lifespan (less heat).
However, I've started to notice some random white flashes, more noticeable in dark images.
I use a black wallpaper and my productivity applications are set to dark themes as well.
Initially, I thought the flash was some effect related to Windows wallpapers cycling automatically, but then I realized it happens over the whole screen, over any application.
After some testing, I've concluded it happens only when monitor is set to 60hz (tested in native resolution and 10bpc only).
I've then tested a game with G-SYNC enabled, to see if this flash isn't that same "VRR flickering" users report with OLEDs, and it turns out it is! (or at least it looks like it)
So what I'm suspecting is happening here: when in 60HZ, occasionally there's some micro-fluctuation in refresh rate of Windows Desktop (I'm not gaming, remember!), and when it happens, the flash occurs. That's pure speculation, of course. MAYBE the framerate goes below 60, and that's when the flash happens, I don't know.
The GSYNC test I did was the following: load some not-demanding game, set it to full screen, making sure GSYNC is working, and then I press control to show mouse pointer. Everytime I press control to show mouse pointer, flash occurs. The option to show mouse pointer is this one, if anyone is curious:

And this flash is very similar to what happens in Windows Desktop.
When using monitor in higher refresh rates (like 120, for example), there's no flash whatsoever.
Is it supposed to be like this?

I can confirm this was the issue I was having with my AW2725DF a few months ago! When playing on my Switch 2 in 120fps mode, the flickering disappears, yet whenever a game runs at 60fps and the monitor switches to 60Hz, the flickering comes back.
Did you ever find a solution?

@qwerp I haven't found any solution but I've been stuck in contact with dell support for over a month at this point, and as of last week I've been told their engineering team is *supposedly* working on it, but we'll see.

I would try 70 Hz. At 60 Hz you will be in sync with the frequency of the power grid in North America, so any lights around you will affect your view as they are on the same frequency.
If you go slightly higher, like 70 Hz, at least you can avoid that issue.
