AW2725DF, joystick drift causes constant OSD pop up

After a year of use, the mini joystick used for the monitor's OSD configuration started experiencing stick drift, which you may be familiar with if you have used a Nintendo Switch before. This has caused some very annoying issues to occur. At first it was randomly enabling the "Alien Vision" filter on screen by itself, which I was able to fix by turning off the the AlienVision keys in the Personalize menu. But then it got even worse. For me it is drifting down, so it keeps opening and closing the OSD menu. This is very distracting and ruins what is otherwise a very nice (and expensive!) monitor. Enabling the OSD lock setting doesn't help either as the drift causes it to alternate between showing the lock icon in the middle of the screen or popping up the "disable lock" screen.

Looking around online I have found similar reports of this problem on many other monitors with this same control style. I fear that every monitor with this kind of mini joystick control scheme will eventually suffer a similar fate. And there seems to be no way in the current firmware to alleviate the issue.

After the inicial setup, what did you use the OSD for?

I always do what I can to avoid touching any moving parts in monitors (mainly those type of joystick controls).

Everything I need to do could be done in Dell Display Manager.

Anyway, yours should be under warranty still.
