AW2725DF, firmware M3B104, cannot install
Hi all,
There is a new firmware update (M3B104) for the AW2725DF. It is only available from the AWCC (Alienware Command Center).
The issue I’m facing is that AWCC is not recognizing my monitor is connected via USB and hence can’t install the new firmware.
I have connected the monitor to the pc via DisplayPort and the USB upstream cable but it still says my monitor isn’t connected via USB.
Can’t find any solutions to this problem online any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Please take a look at the following troubleshooting steps:
Ensure USB Connection: Make sure that the USB cable is properly connected and that the monitor is powered on. Sometimes, a loose or faulty USB connection can prevent the monitor from being detected by the Alienware Command Center.
Update Alienware Command Center: Make sure that the Alienware Command Center software is up to date. Sometimes, updating the software can resolve compatibility issues. Then check if the command center is recognizing the monitor.
All the best!

Dell Support must verify the ownership and warranty status. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private AW2725DF Service Tag with them. For their troubleshooting notes, answer the following =
* What PC model?
* What operating system?
* What version of AWCC 6.x is installed?
* Clarify, you connected the USB-B to USB-A cable?
AW2725DF #2 USB-B port --> USB-B to USB-A cable --> PC USB-A port
* In Menu- Others, is DDC/CI set to On?

I have the same issue and can't update firmware. Were you able to update your monitor?

@Phantom160 unfortunately not. I contacted Alienware support and was told that Alienware control centre only runs on prebuilt Alienware pc’s?? Which I don’t think is correct. Anyways I have given up and I’m just sticking with firmware M3B103 and hope they decide to put the latest firmware on the support page for the monitor

Im running into the same issue. I dont have an Alienware PC but do have the AW2725DF. Tried new cables, tried every usb port on my machine, watched as device manager registers plugging in the usb. They do release firmware directly on the support page for the monitor but unfortunately that ALSO requires the USB upstream to be working. As a last ditch effort I ordered another montior to replace the one I have but even that didnt work.
I dont care that the cable doesnt work but it does bother me that we have NO way to update firmware in the future. Dell/Alienware really needs to provide us a solution.

I couldn't update — it only worked after turning off HDR in the monitor settings; then the update started without any errors.
