AW2523HF, how to hook up my MSI laptop?
Hi all, just got my new Alienware monitor (AW2523HF 360hz), and I was wondering what is the optimal way to hook it up to my MSI laptop?
For reference, I have the MSI GF75 thin 9SD (https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GF75-Thin-9SD/support).
I tried connecting via HDMI and the refresh rate was limited to 144hz, although I am unsure which HDMI version I was using. I then bought a USB-C to display port and it didn’t recognize the monitor (I believe this has to do with the USB-C version of my laptop?) so I’ll probably be returning that.
Given the specifications, does anyone know what I should do to be able to get the full 360hz ? Or at least 240hz ?
I am fully aware that my laptop doesn’t even have a GPU capable of achieving that many fps, and I do intend on getting an upgrade soon, but for now I would still like to be able to use my monitor at its full potential, hooked up to this laptop.
Any tips as to what I should do would be greatly appreciated.

That system does not appear to have Thunderbolt support -- just USB-C/3.x. It's unlikely you'll see it capable of 240 Hz refresh but you should contact MSI for the details.
