Aurora R9 SSD upgrade Questions
I am looking to upgrade my (boot) SSD from a 256gb m.2 PCIe NVMe to a 2 TB. The issue I am "very" confused about is: the drives I see available are mostly Gen 4. From what I can find from the R9 setup guide is that my PCIe Bus is Gen 3/2. I've read that a Gen 4 "may" work, but at Gen 3 speeds.
I don't want to pay for a card that "may" or not work up to intended speed.
I have looked at a few Gen 3, and they seem to be sub-standard knockoffs or astronomically priced.
Anyone have any possible suggestions?
Current Config:

state drive

For your Aurora R9, I would suggest to upgrade with a Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD. Besides the optimal performance, you will get a generous warranty (1200 TBW) from a well know storage manufacturer.
