Aurora R8, BIOS 1.0.26 not installing
Hello all!
I have an Alienware Aurora R8 and am trying to update the BIOS from v1.0.25 (Currently on System) to v1.0.26 running Windows 11. BIOS executable file will not update at ALL. I tried via SupportAssist, Alienware Update, downloading file and running as Admin, tried booting from USB, nothing. Windows just says "Driver Version Fail." after trying to run the .EXE file.
This seems to be a critical update according to SupportAssist. Please advise on what to do. Does anyone encounter the same error when updating from 1.0.25 to 1.0.26? This update (the .EXE file) will not work at all.
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions!

SOLVED!! 01-03-2023
UPDATE/EDIT to Original Post: Today on Windows Update (Win11), they just rolled out the v1.0.26 BIOS as an additional update. Chose to Install via Windows Update and v1.0.26 was installed, with no problem. NOTE: Your computer will reboot/power cycle around 8x, so please be aware of that.

When you state "tried booting from USB"; are you referring to using a USB with Rufus loaded on it and installing outside of Windows? This post may be of assistance-- https://www.dell.com/community/Alienware-Desktops/Aurora-R9-BIOS-1-0-23/m-p/8317625#M65262

Best thing to do if everything works, is to do nothing and enjoy your holidays.
BIOS updates are only needed if they fix an issue you are experiencing, or add a feature you need.

Yep, I have the same , I wonder if its a windows 11 issue, as this is the first Bios update I've don't since updating to windows 11. All previous updates done under windows 10 worked OK.

How did you get the .EXE file to work exactly?

for 1.0.25? i simply downloaded the bios exe and ran it. it worked like all the other bios versions before.
1.0.26 is the only one malfunctioning.

I hope Dell issues a new WORKING .EXE file for v1.0.26 for Windows 11. No more of this "Driver Version Fail." message.

It is ironic that windows update has a better version of the driver than the dell official website
