Aurora R7, upgrade from i5 to i7?
Hello,
I am currently in the process of determining whether I need a new computer. Ideally, I would like to upgrade parts and continue using this one as I have loved this 2018 Aurora R7 for its life span and don't particularly want to part with it.
I just ran a diagnostic test on it and the Hard Drive failed, so I know I need to replace that part (unfortunate!). However, to run newer games, I need an i7 CPU as opposed to the current i5. Looking at compatible parts, I am not seeing any processors listed whatsoever. Am I missing something? I would have expected to at least see an i5 processor on the list, but all I see are heat sink replacements. Am I out of luck here? Do I need a new computer to update to i7+?
I am running an Aurora R7 with original parts. Happy to provide any other information that is helpful.
Any information is helpful here.
Thanks!

The 2018 Aurora R7 had two validated OEM i7 CPU. Search the web for the Dell part number =
7TMX7 Intel i7-8700 Coffee Lake-S, 3.2GHz, 12MB, FSB 2667MHz, 65W
YYVN7 Intel i7-8700K Coffee Lake-S, 3.7GHz, 12MB, FSB 2667MHz, 95W

If you choose the 95 watt CPU you would also need to install the AIO liquid cooling.
