Aurora R7, 4x16GB Crucial 3200MHz ram issue
I am trying to keep this machine working efficient for another 2 years. I want to upgrade my RAM speed to 3200 MHz which the motherboard and the RAM is rated for. However, the XMP option to increase the speed in BIOS is grayed out. Attached are my CPU_ID information for motherboard and Ram memory. I do have the latest Dell posted BIOS (1.0.26) flashed to my computer. AWCC did not work. I believe that the BIOS has put an upper cap on my RAM speed. I did upgrade to 4x16GB of Crucial 3200MHz ram and have them all recognized by my computer.
Can you share any suggestions... Thanks

While you can install 3200 MHz memory, it will operate at the speed memory controller is rated for. Your system supports Coffee Lake, 8th gen processors. Therefore, memory will be operated at 2666 MHz.

@Chino de Oro Understood. Thanks! I’m assuming my I7 8700 cpu has maxed out on that board ….
