Aurora R4, hard drive
Need help if possible. I had an R4 which i think the PSU has failed.
Having upgraded to the R15 i thought i could just add my old drive to get the data off.
I can see the folder but it will not let me access it.
The only password is for windows but does give me an option to enter it.
Is there a way to get the data off or will i need to try and repair my old R4?

@poolmaster_3811cb Once you have moved everything you need of it, you can format it and use it for other purposes.
The thing to be aware off that if you want to use it as an external drive, you will need to purchase an external drive enclosure. They can be had on Amazon or other retailer for cheap. Just have to make sure it can hold the storage device you want to put in it (SATA, 3.5", 2.5" etc...).

With the old HDD connected to Aurora-R15 (most people use a USB-Adapter/Tester) ... you can usually run a "Take Ownership" script against the old drive (and its folder/files) one last time.
After you get everything transferred, I suggest you start making more-proper backups.

If you can see the folder/file, but cannot access it, you will need to take ownership of the folder/file.
This guide will help you with that: Take ownership of files and folders in windows 11

Thank you both for the advise.
Worked a treat and have spent the day transferring everything.
Have learned my lesson and bought an external hard drive.
Just out of interest could i format the old drive and also use as an external drive?

@Vanadiel Thank you very much.
Have purchased an enclosure for it which works well.
Great i can format it and use rather than get rid of it.
