Aurora R4 ALX AIO Cooler Dying. Can I use air cooler?

So I have a Aurora R4 ALX from 2013 that is still chugging along quiet nicely. I opened the PC up yesterday to do some cleaning and noticed that the Corsair AIO cooler that I had put in there years ago when I bought the PC had cracks on the hose. Considering the age of the computer, I was wondering if I could just throw in a cheap air cooler without a problem or if it has to be an AIO water cooler. CPU is an i7 3820. Hope someone can help with this. Thanks.

Yes if you can find a LGA2011 air cooler.  I think Dell AIO uses M4 screw which is the standard for this socket.  You may also use Dell AIO for Area 51 R2-R4/5 AIO.  X99 and X299 LGA2066 socket cooler fit X79 LGA2011 socket too.  A used LGA2011 AIO cooler may be comparable to air cooler in pricing depends on availability.

Unlike LGA115x,the 2011 boards have 4 M4 threaded holes built into the socket. The socket comes with a reinforced backplate. Most coolers either screw into these directly or have standoffs you install.
