Aurora R16, trying to upgrade drives

Recently purchased an R16 with plans to replace the installed SSD with a pair of 8TB WD Black SSDs & a 24TB WD Red Pro HDD. Having installed the new hardware I went on to install Windows 10 Pro via thumb drive. However when Windows asks where I want the OS installed it does not list any of the 3 drives. The drives do show up in BIOS. Any help is appreciated.

@mwill41093 Will be easier to switch the BIOS from RAID to AHCI mode and boot externally from the installation media.

You can download and extract the Intel RST driver from link below onto a USB drive and plug it in your PC.  At the screen to select OS drive, select to load driver and browse to the USB and installing the Intel driver.  All drives will be visible for you to choose.  https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=38gc0&oscode=w2021&productcode=alienware-aurora-r16-desktop

Thank you for your reply. Would I be able to download & extract the driver onto an SD card using a USB card reader?

@Vanadiel that worked; thank you.

Now I need to find a network driver for Win 10 Pro. Would the Win 11 drivers here work:

I don't know what network card is in there, but usually the manufacturer has the proper drivers for it.

There isn’t a network card, just an Ethernet port on the motherboard

@mwill41093 Killer E3100G Ethernet controller integrated on the system board

R16 specifications

These drivers should work

So I still have the SSD that came with the computer with Win 11 installed... I don't suppose I could transfer the driver off that SSD to my installed SSD, or would there be compatibility issues?

Ok great... so what file(s) do I need to copy over?

Just download the driver package from the link I provided. It's both for Windows 10/11.

You cannot easily directly copy drivers over from one to another installation.

I had no internet access on my computer so downloading drivers for my motherboard network adapter wasn't possible.

I ended up calling a friend who had a spare thumb dive & doesn't live too far away. I now have internet access so all is well.

Thanks to those who took the time to reply.

@mwill41093 If you ever run into that again, you should have BT connectivity which you can use to link your phone, and then you can use your  phone to setup a hotspot and use the Internet over BT.

I would also get a thumb drive and backup those drivers to it, so you have it in case you need it again for the future.
