Aurora R16 "Top Fan Error" after upgrading GPU... but there are no top fans!

Hi,

I just updated the GPU in my Aurora R16.  Basically I swapped my RTX 4060 TI (8Gb) to a RTX 5070 (12 Gb).  After rebooting I got the Top Fan Error (1 and 2).  I DON'T HAVE Top Fans.

I checked the other fans and they work fine.  I reset the BIOS, updated the BIOS and went over all menu option in both the BIOS and the Alienware Command Center and I can't get rid of the error.

The system works fine and I don't have any other issues.  But I have to acknowledge the error every time I boot.

Am I the only one with this issue?

OP has air cooler for CPU

MXY5H
therefore no top 240mm AIO cooler and no top radiator fans.
professor once said "Clear CMOS by holding in the power button for 30 seconds."

Is it possible that it is coded into BIOS that if you have the RTX 5070 (or above) you must have a liquid cooled CPU???

It's likely talking about the video card fans.

If you use that diagnostic code you should be able to get some more information on what it means.

@Vanadiel The error code is for system fans (not GPU) 2000-0511.

@mathieup75 Swap it back to the OEM, see if the issue goes away.

That will avoid arriving at the wrong conclusion.
