Aurora R16, shutting down after updating from 2.7.0 to 2.8.0
I recently updated to the 2.8.0 bio on my Alienware R16 and I started to experience the machine just shutting down every 20 minutes to an hour or so. I had no issues at all before the update from 2.7.0 to 2.8.0, but as the email stated this was a crtical update I went ahead and updated it regardless.
I have re-flashed with the 2.7.0 bios and the shut-downs have stopped, no issues now. I am posting this to add to the data for 2.8.0 bios issues. My machine specs are as follows:
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) 14th Gen i9 14900KF
GPU: NVIDIA(R) GeForce RTX(TM) 4090
RAM: 32GB, 2x16GB, DDR5, 5600MT/s
PSU: 1000W Platinum PSU, Dark, Liquid-Cooled CPU & Clear Side Panel

The 2.8.0 Bios thread was from 11 months ago. Most Aurora R16 user are well past 2.8.0 Bios. The Aurora R16 Drivers & Downloads page shows 9 Bios updates since 2.8.0.

Ahh, my bad - the driver I just downloaded today says "2.18.0" (09 June 2025), so I should be caught up now.
Thanks!

Is this during high load?
If so I have been able to replicate this issue with a 14700kf.
Aida64 "Checkmate" test. Consistently causes the PC to instantly power off.
No BSOD check codes or any errors logged in event viewer other than system was not "shut down" cleanly.
Issue never happened with BIOS 2.1.7
Performance is also down slightly too.
