Aurora R16, PSU upgrades
With the new R16 that comes the 500W PSU installed, for future upgraders that would like to upgrade to a 1000W or a 1350W PSU, what would the part number be? Wondering if this has changed from the R13, R14, R15?
TIA

R13, 14, 15, 16 all use Dell proprietary 10 or 12 pin motherboard socket. the extra 2 pin in the 12 pin of R15,16 are just two more power pins. R15 psu is backward c/w 13/14.
iirc R16 is just slightly modified R15 oem motherboard put in a new design case with different cooling and led. old wine in a new bottle. so the R15 psu is c/w R16.

Different PSU, so will have a separate part number. These are all 12 Volt PSU, new Intel standard.

I checked the "Product Compliance Datasheet for the R16" and it list these as the PSUs used in the R16.
Power Supply Model # L500EPS-01, D500EPS-01, HU500EPS-00 "these are 500w", and L1000EPS-00, D1000EPS-00, AC1000EPS-00 "for the 1000w". They look to be the same part number as used in the R13-R15s also. Wondering if there are variations of those part numbers.

The R16 is listed as SFF, the one in the R13 is not.
Could be same insides, different form factor.
Would need someone with access to both to verify dimensions

And also, different ATX power connector. #5 is 6 PIN on R16 and 5 PIN on R13.
If I am not mistaken somebody posted on here that they used the R16 6 PIN on the R13 5 PIN, let 2 PINS overhang and it worked.
R16 6 PIN
R15 5 PIN
Personally I would not mix them because it can have unintended side effects.

Actually page 72 of the owners manual for the R16 under the FRU section about removing the power supply shows an image with a 6 pin ATX connector but is using 5 "with a 5 pin connector plugged in" probably for the 500w and 1000w power supply, the 1350w comes with the 6 pin. They haven't published the service manual yet for the R16 but do have some of the information in the user manual.
Would like confirmation as to what part numbers are being used from one of the Dell reps on here.

1350W PSU were not tested by Dell on the Aurora R16.
* Go to the top of this Alienware Desktops board
* Open, "FAQ Alienware Desktops"
* Open, "FAQ Aurora R16"

@DELL-Chris M Thanks for the info, and for the PSUs, do you think the 1350 will be added?
I'm curious how you are handling the power requirements on the 4080 configured systems. Is there just a 2-1 12VHPWR adapter or has the power supply been revised with a single 12VHPWR cable.
Thanks

@redxps630 Thanks redxps360, that's what I have been finding and wanted to be sure. It looks like the case frame is the same too just with updated plastics, "and ventilation from what I've been reading".
Even reading the 16 FAQ "from the link Chris posted above", the PSU part numbers are the same for the 13-15 so there hasn't been any change there apparently.

@veethoo.79 That I do not know. I do know Dell does not always sell individual parts. Best bet would be to contact a Dell agent using the get help now button in the lower right corner of the screen. I am sure they can guide you in the right direction.
I know they have Dell OEM parts on Ebay and Amazon, but as always you have to carefully assess the seller(s) to make sure you are buying from a reputable source...
