Aurora R16, liquid cooling pump humming noise

So I just purchased an R16 with liquid cooling and overall I'm pretty happy with it.  However, the liquid cooling pump makes a constant hum that is driving me crazy.  It's not loud (overall system noise is 40-45db close to the pc) but the pump noise is at a higher pitch that I hear really well.  I'm positive it's the pump because if I unplug the pump but leave the fans running, the noise goes away.   I use this PC for work, so I'd like it to be quiet when I'm working.  The PC isn't under a heavy load when I'm working so the fans are low and the pump noise is very noticeable.  Is there a fix for this or an aftermarket AIO cooling system I can use to replace the stock cooler?  Otherwise I'm considering returning this PC and doing a custom build with a better liquid cooling system.   I tried calling Dell support but I don't think they really understood my issue.

there is no known Dell fix.  it is a known intrinsic feature of liquid cooler.  you can try a non-Dell cooler but make sure seller can accept return if that also has hum

@redxps630 Thanks for the feedback.  Maybe I'll return this and go back to a CPU fan.  Not ideal for gaming but at least I'll be able to have more control over the fan speed.

Re: The PC isn't under a heavy load

Dell offers a premium tower cooler for 12/13/14th gen cpu in Optiplex and XPS which you could also use in Aurora R16/15/13.  The aurora is designed to be a gaming pc so liquid cooling especially that w Cryotech RGB is a marketing strategy.  In actual daily use if your apps are not stressing the cpu a tower cooler could be a quieter option.  all these use M3 heatsink mounting screw so it should be an easy drop in.

@redxps630 Thanks.  A good option but I think removing the liquid cooler from this unit will trigger a bunch of BIOS and software issues so I will need to return this and either purchase an R16 without liquid cooling or (more likely) do a custom build without liquid cooling.

I have my R16 (liquid cooled) on the same (wide) desk as my work Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 6. The R16 is connected to an array of fast external USB drives I use for backup. Unless I am stressing the R16 it is whisper-quiet. The USB drives and the Thinkpad make more noise than my R16.

If I listen hard, the only noise I can hear from the R16 when not stressed is a very slight sound from the GPU fans. If the noise from the liquid cooler pump on your system is really that noticeable, perhaps have a word with Dell support.

I'm in the same boat. I've had my R16 for about 10 days now and that hum is killing me. There's also mini crackles in the back of the hum sound as well. Ugh...this is my 2nd computer this year with fan noises. Great machine, but that HUM. I might have to return this and build another computer like the OP. My last build was super quiet.
