Aurora R16, Crucial memory not at shown correct speed
Alienware Aurora R16
My R16 has 14999KF and the latest BIOS. I installed a Crucial 64Gb 5600 MT/s kit. But Windows showed the speed at 5200 MT/s. I removed the CMOS battery and the BIOS reset was still not working. I put the original Dell memory back, the system showed 5600 MT/s. What did I do wrong? Thanks for your help.

You did nothing wrong. According to the specs here, 64 GB of RAM (2x32GB) will run at 5200 and not 5600. At 5200 the speed difference is very slight as to probably be unnoticeable.

You bought the wrong RAM.
Apparently, the Aurora R16 will not support XMP profiles on 3rd party RAM. Your Crucial RAM's 5600 MT/s speed is an XMP 1 profile, so the RAM drops down to it's slowest speed of 5200 MT/s.
It has been reported that this G.Skill RAM will run at 5600 MT/s in the R16 because that is it's SPD speed, so no XMP required. It also runs at 1.1v, which is compatible with the R16 motherboard. As a bonus to some, it has RGB.

I noticed Dell R16 page shown 64 GB configuration run at 5200. https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/desktop-computers/alienware-aurora-r16-gaming-desktop/spd/alienware-aurora-r16-desktop/useahctor16i24

All,
If you go to the Pinned Post FAQ Alienware Desktops, then open the FAQ Aurora R16, you will see the validated OEM memory part numbers, specifications, and vendors.
