Aurora R16, can a 2.5" HDD be installed?

Is there an adapter for the supplied hard disk caddy in the Alienware R16 to allow the use of a 2.5" SSD drive?  Or, can the caddy already accept a 2.5" drive?

Amazon 2.5 to 3.5 adaptors will work fine.

be careful of the some of the 2.5 to 3.5 adapter.  some do not work well with 90 degree angled SATA power connector of R16 power cable 1JFJ8.

the cable is designed for 3.5" hdd.  when you use a suboptimal adapter, the sata port of 2.5" may be positioned in a recess of caddy deep to the port level of 3.5" drive.  In that situation the angled connector would have a hard time reach deep into the caddy to plug in the 2.5 power port.  so choose an adapter that allows the 2.5" port to be almost flush with the level of expected 3.5" port is recommended.  example

This is the adapter I used. It holds two SSD's. Keep in mind you'll need a second data cable and it helps to have straight (not 90) connectors.
