Aurora R16, AWCC zones
Alienware Aurora R16
It seems like no one has an answer to this. I'll ask around every now and then and I hear nothing but crickets. Take a look at the attached photo. I'm trying to figure out the location of the four zones indicated here. I'm specifically referring to fan speed control. The CPU zone and the top zone are pretty clear. I know which fans THEY control. I'm trying to figure out where the mid and side zones are. What fans are located in these zones? There is a fan located on the front of the case. Which "zone" is this.
I'm also assuming that the GPU fans are NOT related to Alienware zones. These fans are controlled by the GPU based on its temperature.

Found this, if it helps almost a year later.

You would have to look at the MB fan connectors to see what is connected to what header: System Board
Then you could lower the fan speeds to maximum for each fan and figure out what fan is spinning up, and what it's called in AWCC.

CPU: Refers to fans mounted on the CPU heatsink, used to directly cool the CPU.
TOP: Refers to fans mounted on the top of the case, usually used to exhaust hot air.
MID: Refers to fans mounted in the middle of the case, which may be used to assist in cooling graphics cards or other components.
SIDE: Refers to fans mounted on the side of the case, usually used to increase airflow inside the case.

You’re welcome. And I literally searched for two days -probably 10 hours worth of research before I found this.
