Aurora R15, Kingston Fury Beast 64GB DDR5 5 600MHz, not compatible

<User referencing this December 2023 thread. Dell has always used proprietary OEM parts. DELL-Admin>

I’ve contacted Kingston. The memory they make for Dell does NOT have the same timings as what they make available for public purchase. Dell memory is PROPRIETARY. It will NOT work long term without issues. It ain’t made to. Even IF you’re able to “fool” the system into recognizing the memory at 5200 or even 5600 speeds, it will eventually BSOD and throw video card or processor memory faults when it’s simply the RAM not being compatible to Dell’s proprietary Bios/motherboard.

For those who have fooled their systems as I have, and as is mentioned in this thread, I’d challenge you to run the support assist tests while the memory is overclocked, and IF it doesn’t BSOD you, you’ll get Video Card warnings or errors. I sent my machine to depot two weeks ago, had the VC and processor replaced due to VC warnings…and their own “techs” didn’t realize it was the ram causing issues…issues I STILL have right after they swapped both! It was KINGSTON that alerted me to this problem for Dell!

Now, it’s not my intent to debate this, go back and forth, discourage anyone to not do it, or whatever. I’m just as salty as everyone else for dumping 3500 into a desktop when I would have been better suited spending the same amount for an actual upgradable machine that hasn’t the limits Alienware has. I regret this purchase, I should have spent the money on prebuilt gaming machines that use name brand, non-proprietary parts instead of a huge company that has name brand companies build proprietary parts for Dell they can upcharge, later.

Dont believe me? Compare Kingston 64GB Fury 5600 on Dell to the Kingston website. The kit with Kingston is cheaper than a single stick with Dell. And per Kingston, it’s built FOR DELL. FOR ALIENWARE. Kingston still has the same QC for all their stuff. This is company money making tactics. Annoying.

You hit the nail on the head regarding Dell and their expensive proprietary ram.  I purchased an R15 (Intel) with 32Gb RAM and would like to upgrade to 64Gb.  Dell doesn't even offer what they say the unit can handle.  I've always wanted an R15 and now, after spending nearly $4k, I am also disappointed...
