Aurora R15, high CPU usage on website local server
Hi Dell Community,
I’m using an Alienware Aurora R15 desktop as a local server for testing and hosting my website. While it generally performs well, I’ve noticed consistent high CPU usage when running my development environment, especially during tasks like compiling code or running database queries.
Here’s my setup:
- Intel Core i9 processor
- 32GB RAM
- NVMe SSD for storage
What I’ve tried so far:
- Updated all drivers, including BIOS and chipset, via Dell SupportAssist.
- Checked resource usage in Task Manager, but nothing seems out of the ordinary except spikes in CPU usage.
- Monitored temperatures, and while they’re on the higher side, they don’t seem critical.
Could this be related to thermal throttling, specific power settings, or some hardware misconfiguration? Are there optimizations I can apply in the BIOS or Alienware Command Center to improve performance for this kind of workload? Thanks in advance for any advice!
