Aurora R15, black screen GPU fans at 100%
I've encountered persistent issues with my Aurora r15, experiencing sporadic black screens accompanied by the video card fan reaching maximum speed. Despite engaging in troubleshooting sessions with Dell on five separate occasions, the root cause remains elusive. In my investigation, I discovered a potential connection between the problem and the power supply unit (PSU). Specifically, manipulating the video card power connector revealed a correlation with the recurring issue. It seems that during the manufacturing process, when Dell routes cables through the case, there may be unintended tension on the connector, resulting in a slightly dislodged or damaged wire.

Correlation does not imply causation.

Exact same issue.. Dell has me wiggle the power supply to the $090 Vid card and that fixes it for a week or so but have to reboot PC after black screen..

@linjan can you reroute the cables to get a more secure connection?

@linjan Hmmm, I would strongly suggest to not wiggle. Instead push on the connector to try and push it in further.
The 4000 series uses a new 12 volt style plug, and there were a bunch of issues with them. They have since redesigned the connector slightly to alleviate the issues.
If you have the original design all that should be required is a good push to ensure it's 100% seated properly. It's not an issue directly related to Dell or Alienware, it's an actual issue with the original design of that power connector.

The power connectors on the 4000 and now also the 5000 series are notorious for their poor connectivity and the issues they cause.
