Aurora R15, AWCC Starts for FX to control lighting, etc. just a spinning circle forever

Alienware Aurora R15

Alienware Aurora R15

Hi, I've tried everything short of rebuilding Window 11 from the ground up.  I've uninstalled the app, reinstalled the app, Revo-uninstalled the app and still I cannot get FX to detect the lighting or the peripherals including alienware keyboards and displays.

Is there any hope of getting this software to work?

I think do a clean OS install and clean AWCC is the best chance you have now.  AWCC is a bloatware notoriously difficult to uninstall and reinstall without issue

Hi REDXPS630.  I did a total reinstall of both Windows 10 and Windows 11 on my Aurora and could not get AWCC to work in any installation of Windows.  I tried down-level versions of AWCC from both downloaded full installations versions and from smaller files sizes.

I am not sure what kind of voodoo magic Dell system builders used to get it working in the first place but I am sure not able to figure it out!  Maybe I need to pull all the peripherals off except for a keyboard, mouse and keyboard and reset the bios to default, etc.

I was hoping that something like AlienFX Tools but could only get some fan control and I really want lighting control but couldn't figure out that one either.

I was finally able to get a down level version of the software, 5.x.x., to properly install and function.  I set a system restore point and attempted to update AWCC to the latest version which broke AWCC once again.  Restored the system tin the earlier version and AWCC was restored.

Any idea why v6.x refuses to work?

What I've found over the years I've been running AWCC, and I'm currently running AWCC 6.x on my Aurora R13 on W11, AWCC will periodically break. This time I had the same situation as you...AWCC would load and run, but the AlienFX window only showed a spinning circle and failed to load. I tried a lot of things, but when all else fails what winds up working for me (and it pretty much always does) is this:

Do a complete Revo uninstall.

Restart system.

Reinstall using the AWCC "Full Installer" download from Dell Support.

Restart system.

After this, if AlienFX still doesn't work (and it didn't work for me this time).

Shut your system down completely, and pull the power cords from the CPU, monitor, and any other powered peripherals.

Walk away from your system and leave it alone for an hour or so.

After the waiting time, plug everything back in and restart.

AWCC and AlienFX should load and run normally.

What I think happens during that shutdown, disconnect, and at least that hour of waiting time is when you plug the system back in and restart, there has been a complete reinitialization of the CPU and all the peripherals. Once that happens AWCC and AlienFX will successfully reconnect and start. It may be voodoo, and I have no scientific way of proving this works, but this method has worked for me many times...every time AWCC breaks. So you can try this and see if it works for you. As I said, I'm currently successfully running AWCC 6.x on an Aurora R13 with W11. Good luck!

Thanks AnClar.  I'll give it a shot and report back with my findings.
