Aurora R14, upgrade WiFi adapter

Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R14

Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R14

Hi Dell Community,

I want to upgrade my wifi adapter to be able to utilise wifi 6. Can anyone give some advice on how to do this?

It uses a standard M.2 NGFF wireless card -- same as for a notebook computer.

Something like the Intel AX200 will work.

The other option would be a USB  wireless adapter -- there are plenty of choices in these.

@ejn63 Will the AX200 swap out like for like?

If your system was shipped with MediaTek MT7921 option, it supports AX protocol for wifi 6.

If you have Realtek wifi 5, search for Intel AX200 or AX210 with M.2 2230 form factor.  It will be simple swap.

The AX200 will work with your system -- but the BE200 will not.

@overclocked91 , BE series is not a support upgrade at this point for your R14.  Stay with AX200 or AX210 as they are PCIe cards with standard key (A/E).

Apology if I may provide contradicting information with other poster.  But, stay away from the cards that have model number ending with 01, 11 as those are CNVio cards, which are lacking some hardware functions and they would required to work with supported and compatible Intel processors to be fully functioned.

Just buy one of these: WiFI 7
