Aurora R13, unplugged while updating, now it won’t turn on
I need help. I unplugged my pc while updating it. Now it won't turn on. The only response of life is when I unplug it and plug it back in, the lights and fans turn on for 6 seconds and turn off again 2 times. I removed the coin cell battery and memory card and other stuff. I still get the same response. Please help.

That sounds to me like it was doing a BIOS update in Windows. If that’s the case either clear CMOS or it might be time for a new motherboard.

What Alienware PC?
When you removed the coin cell battery did you discharge residual by holding in the power button for 30 seconds?
What other stuff?

Interesting.
Then, shouldn't have been such a disaster. Normally, in that case ... it just complains a bit but Windows still boots. Maybe drop into SafeMode to see what's-what at the most.

What kind of update?
Like a Windows-Update or was it a Firmware update in the UEFI Environment ? (after Post, but before Windows starts to load)
And yeah, it would help to know the model and release.

Good Luck with tech support

"Tech Support" will replace the new motherboard with a refurbished one . . . whether it needs to be replaced, or not. Then the problems will only be compounded.

1. Agreed. But he said it was just some Windows-Updates. However, I suppose it could have been a forced BIOS/Firmware update thru Windows-Update.
2. Agreed. The BIOS-Guard should kick-in. And then, there is always this:
https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000132453/how-to-recover-the-bios-on-a-dell-computer-or-tablet
But he seems fine with Dell coming-out to help him. Probably better that way (in his case) anyway.
