Aurora R13, questions about RAM, GPU upgrades
Alienware Aurora R13
Hello, I would like to know some things in order to make upgrades later.
- Actually with a little RTX 3060 and his support part, if I take longer and bigger card, is it possible to get the appropriate support part to fix it well? I did not see that part in the Dell store.
- Actually with two DDR5 8GB RAM, can I upgrade with 2 more DDR5 16GB RAM from the Dell store? Is it technically possible to mix 8 & 16 memory?
- Is it possible to run 4 old DDR4 in this Aurora R13?
- Is it possible to run some another DDR5 RGB memory from any company?
Thanks for you knowledge and your time.

1. Not sure what you mean with support part.
2. No mixing of size or frequency is supported.
3. Not possible to run DDR4 on that platform.
4. Usually not, or the RGB does not work.

One thing I forgot to mention, mostly because it's 2022, is that this system does not support XMP profiles. So don't waste your money on high speed XMP memory modules because they will be downclocked to the default JEDEC profile.

There is nothing magic about a graphics card support . . . use whatever you want hold it how you like it; Lego blocks, chop stick, whatever works.

You only need it when moving the PC, and even then it's questionable. I removed mine without any issue. It's just a support to prevent card sagging. Card is locked in place with a tab regardless.
RGB is not validated on the platform, so there's no way of knowing if it works or not.
RAM matrix is listed here: RAM Matrix
due to the platform not supporting XMP memory profiles, the RAM speed will go down from 4,400 Mhz to 4,000 Mhz when using 4 RAM modules versus 2 modules.

Each rtx card is maintened in place with a special metal (or plastic?) part. These parts are different, depending on the rtx size. if i change my card, i will certenly need the special part to fix correctly the card inside the PC

> i saw on this forum that Kingston RGV could work as Kingston seems to work with Dell ?
Another question about RAM : according to the user manual, i'm not shure about the possibility to get real 32gb ram by using 4x8gb ram ; is this configuration possible, or do i need to get 2x16gb new ram to replace the existing 2x8gb ram ?
