Aurora R12 installed new bio from alienware command center, now no boot, no display
I installed the alienware command center and it immediately installed a new bio and asked for restart. I restarted the pc and then it won't boot, alienface led flashes 3x yellow then 6x yellow, there is no display, i tried going into the bio menu with f2-f12 nothing, switched the jumper from password to cmos clr and then back, nothing, disconected the cmos battery for 5 minutes, drain the residual power, then reinstall battery, turn on pc. Nothing. Is there anything else I could do to try and get this very expensive paperweight working again?

Hi
For Aurora R12 (and similar Dell desktops), a code in the form "3 amber, 6 amber" often points to a fatal motherboard failure or an unrecoverable BIOS/firmware error—possibly related to failed BIOS updates, interrupted BIOS programming, or severe board-level faults not resolved by battery replacement or memory re-seating.
Codes involving "3" sometimes overlap with CMOS battery/RTC issues, but 3,6 is not a standard "low battery" or "memory" error in official Dell tables for this generation.
If the error persists, and a BIOS recovery does not start (e.g. no auto-recovery USB flash prompt), the motherboard likely needs repair or replacement.
If the 3,6 amber code continues after trying the above hardware resets, the issue is classified as a critical system board/BIOS error, and service is required through Dell support.
