Aurora R12, dead after bios update
This morning I saw on my support assist that I have urgent updates, so I went ahead and updated, and left home. When I came back home the pc was off, and pushing the power button nothing happens. I tried following some online help to unplug and hold the power button, opening the case take out the cmos battery, change the jumpers for 5 seconds, etc. nothing worked. My 3 year warranty just expired around a month and 1/2 ago so can’t get support. Is my system bricked and I’m out of luck?

Is the power supply working? If nothing happens when you press the power button that would indicate a failed power supply, or no power at all.

Quite unlikely psu died during bios update. This is most likely a classic example of Support Assist fiasco again. It claims to user there is an urgent update. It failed in the middle of bios update or the update itself is buggy causing failed post.
The only possible way to revive this dead pc is to attemp Dell bios recovery.

It’s frustrating when a system becomes unresponsive after an update, especially just after the warranty expires. Here's a quick guide to try and resolve the issue:
1. Power Cycle: Unplug the PC, hold the power button for 30 seconds, and reconnect the power to see if it turns on.
2. Check Power Supply: Ensure the PSU is on and try a different power cable or outlet.
3. Inspect Hardware: Reseat RAM, check the CMOS battery, and inspect for any visible damage.
4. Minimal Configuration: Remove non-essential components and try booting with just the motherboard, CPU, and one stick of RAM.
5. BIOS Recovery: Some Dell systems allow for BIOS recovery via a specific key combination or USB.
If these steps don't work, a local repair shop might be necessary. Consider reaching out to Dell support as they may offer post-warranty assistance.
