Aurora R10, PSU cable?
Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R10
Hi there Alienware community,
I have read a lot of articles here I love how people help each other.
So I need help. Last month I bought Alienware Aurora R10 used. When I opened it I see there is a missing PSU cable to power the SSD/HDD. Any suggestions on where I can these or what I should use?
I have tried to buy a nonbrand cable 6pin and PC doesn't turn on with them.

Do you have 850w or 1000w psu? both are modular psu (the 550w psu is non-modular)
I think the 850w psu is model D850EF-00, which was used in Aurora R5/6.
DP/N G2GX9 looks like the Dell sata power cable.
Dell cable set
(2) JX68G for R3 & R4 - 6+2 PCI-E Cable 14"
(2) G9Y40 for R5 & R6 - 6+2 PCI-E Cable 10"
(1) MD63V for R7 - 8-pin
(1) GP6MV for R9 - 4-pin 17"
(1) G2GX9 for R10 - Angled Dual SATA 16"
(1) 4NT8R for R12 - HDD (Dual SATA) + ODD (miniSATA) 7.5"
(1) 654MT for ATX connectors 9"
R10 Validated OEM PSU =
RGJRX 1000W, Gold, E-Star
0PDJK 1000W, Gold, E-Star
0WTGN 1000W, Gold, E-Star
9XG5C 850W, Huntkey, E-Star 2
0VMT9 550W, Gold, E-Star
FKY8W 550W, Gold, E-Star
RN3F8 550W, Gold, E-Star
YXK65 550W, Gold, E-Star

confirmed R10 9XG5C 850W, Huntkey is also used for Aurora R8 etc.
Cable set DP/N in first reply.
HU850EF-01 (Huntkey)
Sata power cable
I am reasonably confident that same cable set is compatible with Dell 1000w modular psu for Aurora R10 etc.
Aurora R8 PSU part numbers below = (source Dell-Chris M)
9XG5C 850W Huntkey Gold
J2GNJ 850W Huntkey Bronze
48Y6D 850W Huntkey Bronze
NJVDN 850W Delta Gold
D1J02 850W Delta Bronze
Area 51 R2 Dell validated OEM PSU = (source Dell-Chris M)
N1WJD Delta 850W
48Y6D Huntkey 850W
9XG5C Huntkey V2 850W
Finally N1WJD is a Dell oem psu for Aurora R5

it is prudent not to use modular cable from one retail psu maker for psu made by another. For example never mix Corsair modular cable with Seasonic.
Corsair also makes different modular cable such as type 3 or type 4 which are incompatible.
Regarding the current topic of discussion, there is evidence (see above) that Aurora R5, R8, R10, Area 51 R2 (and likely R5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12 inclusive) 850w Dell oem modular psu are 100% compatible and safe to interchange, not just the psu itself but cable set. User do need to pay attention to precut cable length as R5, R10 chassis are somewhat different.
If the oem 850w psu and 1000w psu are made by same company for Aurora R10, for example D850EF-00 and D1000EF-00, it is reasonable to presume cable set for 850w psu is c/w 1000w. Since all Dell 850w oem psu are interchangeable regardless of Delta, Huntkey etc., as they must all conform to Dell oem standard, it can be further presumed that 850w cable set for R5 is c/w all 1000w oem psu models for Aurora R5-10.

Never use modular cables from another PSU, as you could easily damage the PSU.

Look inside the metal box in front of the PSU. Take the metal shield off that has 2 screws. Your SATA power cables may be folded up inside that box, which is intended for excess cable storage.

Hi, Sorry I was a little confused. I have the same predicament as the original poster, so what you are saying is that we need to buy all those cables listed 2,2,1,1,1,1,1 to install the 1000 gold RGJRX PSU ? Thanks in advance.

(1) 654MT for ATX connectors 9"
the R# is for Dell oem psu port number
in Aurora R10, you do not need the (1) GP6MV for R9 - 4-pin 17"
at minimum you need the 24 pin and 8 pin cables for motherboard
which are
(1) 654MT for ATX connectors 9" (for mobo 24 pin ATX socket)
(1) MD63V for R7 - 8-pin (for mobo 8 pin cpu socket)
If you run M.2 ssd only you do not need the sata power cables
if you need a HDD you only need one cable that has SATA connector

A little confused about the cables. I am trying to upgrade my power supply in my aurora R11 from 550 to 1000 watts. Of course customer service told me it came with cables which it did not. Now I have no idea what cables I need. Does it need to be dell cables also? Thank you for any help,

Hey,
So the picture above from redxps360 are the essentials. The first one connects to the atx connectors. Blue, red , white and black . Next is the the gpu connector, and lastly the last picture is if you are running two hdd. The nvme connects on the mb so if you aren’t running any more hdd you don’t need it . I bought all the parts from dell and it cost 78 dollars or so . I can look at my setup later if nobody gets back to you and let you know exactly . Don’t want to give you the incorrect info. Or you can just do what I did buy all the parts listed and return the ones you don’t need. Also you can find the cables used on eBay. Usually they sell the psu bundled with the cables, this is the cheapest route.
