Aurora R10, NVMe SSD into Aurora R16
Username says it all. Have a Ryzen R10 and am getting an R16 on Tuesday. I'm old and was hoping I could just take the NVMe boot drive from the R10 and replace the boot drive in the R16 and not have to worry about reinstalling all the stuff I've got on the R10. I, unfortunately, am a hoarder. Will Windows 11 be able to handle the quite different hardware configuration on the R16?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have already learned a tremendous amount just from browsing this community and you all have my deepest gratitude.

Might be in for a rough ride.
Method 1 :
They usually configure these systems in RAID without a RAID volume, meaning switching to a different board or machine will come with issues due to incorrect/missing RAID driver.
Make a disk image of the original drive and save it in a safe location.
Check in your R10 BIOS, and if it's set to RAID switch it to AHCI and restart. It should normally boot up again, this time with regular AHCI drivers.
Take the NVMe boot drive out of the R10 and put it in the R16. Put the R16 boot drive in the safe location together with the R10 disk image.
It might boot, or it might not. It will likely complain about hardware changes and Windows will have to be reactivated again.
It's not recommended to move boot drives between systems, but with some tweaking they can often boot. You will have to install a bunch of drivers etc... You might also have to turn off secure boot before attempting to boot.
Move Drive
Method 2:
Use SYSPREP:
Sysprep

assuming both pc are set to boot from nvme ssd via UEFI bios, there is a good chance the ssd transfer will be okay.
i have imaged ssd on a hp i7-8700 elitedesk and transfered the image to a 3 and 4th gen Dell optiplex. Win 10 pro. No issue.
win 11 despite GUI new look is to me just an updated Win 10. No fundamental frame work change bth 10 n 11.

Thanks for the replies. Used Sysprep and things went incredibly smoothly. Loving the R16!
