R10 despite being AMD AM4 socket for cpu uses Dell LGA1151 square hole spacing for heatsink mounting and has Dell M3 back plate. Corsair H60 is known to work with Dell back plate without need to remove Dell board to install cooler specific back plate, which fits what OP wants: a direct drop in and minimal havoc.
VRM heatsink is helpful if you overclock the Ryzen cpu in R10 which is unlocked. but if OP does not plan to overclock cpu, it is not mandatory to install VRM heatsink. they do not cost much and are not difficult to install if you get the correct part, it is just an extra step OP can consider skipping again if minimal work is desired.

If this is an air cooled unit, you will need the VRM heat sinks and only certain retail liquid coolers are known to support the R10.
Most retail coolers do not support the R10.

backside pic of R10 showing fixed Dell M3 back plate
here is user guide to install H60 in XPS 8930 which uses same M3 Dell backplate as R10. OP H60x RGB uses same mounting hardware as older H60

I think you can get the Corsair H60x to work on the R10. The issue is that the R10 has an AMD processor, with Intel mounting spacing. So I believe it would work with the Intel mounting bracket and the AMD standoffs. You do not need to install a motherboard backplate. Make sure you download the installation instructions from the Corsair web site, and adjust as needed.

Using the 4 double sided pins, put the lower pins into the R10 heatsink mounting holes. No modifications needed, the unit is set up for the Dell motherboard LGA1151 CPU socket.

@redxps630 The H60x will come with 4 sets of standoffs (double sided pins) . . . any idea if AMD or Intel should be used?

@Korie_420 Connect pump tach cable to the CPU_FAN header on your motherboard.

use Intel standoff. R10 heatsink is all Intel although socket is AM4.

@redxps630 Always wondered, how does that affect the location of the cold plate if you use Intel standoffs on an AM4 platform?

AM4 and Intel LGA 1151 Z height are slightly different. Dell is not the only brand that does this. HP Omen Ryzen board has been using Intel heatsink too.
Height from the top of the motherboard to top of IHS vary from socket to socket :
use LGA 1151 cooler on AM4 socket is okay based on data above. thermal contact is fine.

I was more wondering about the horizontal placement of the cold plate?
