Aurora R10, BIOS menu doesn’t have an option to enable the other ram slots
I bought a ram upgrade a few days ago (went from 2 sticks of 8 each to 4 of 32, yes I know 128gb is complete overkill but I figured I might as well, there could be some time in the future where I’d need it and I had money to spare anyways so why not) but from what I’ve seen the Alienware bios menu doesn’t have an option anywhere to enable the other 2 slots. It works fine with just two in but putting them in the black slots (2 and 4) causes it to turn off and on repeatedly so I was looking for an option for it but couldn’t find one anywhere. Is it an issue with my bios (2.2.1)? Or is there just not an option anywhere? And if so, why are the other two slots there? Not a super urgent issue by any means, I’d just like to be able to use the other two at some point

Update to the latest firmware 2.9.0 to see if it may help?

Would help to know the model # of the unit, and if you have identical or mixed RAM sticks.

@Chino de Oro Haven’t tried that yet because as far as I know there’s no easy way to undo it if it breaks something but if nothing else works I’ll try it

@Vanadiel r10 motherboard (not 100% sure this is what you meant so if you need something else just ask), and yeah all 4 ram sticks are the same, 32gb Kingston fury beasts ddr4 3200

@Carson P OEM version or retail version? These systems are very picky when it comes to system ram they support.

@Carson P I meant the ram, did you buy it from Dell, or a retail store?
Look for the sticker on the RAM, it will have to match this part number for a 32 GB module:
Validated OEM (original equipment manufacturer) memory =
VTW4H 32GB, XMP DDR4, 3200MHz, 288 pin, Dual Rank, 1.25V, Non-ECC, Kingston XVTW4H-MIE
Note: the HyperX Fury purchased from retail is not the same as the HyperX fury purchased directly form Dell.
