Area-51 R2, Intel CPU compatibility?

This forum post has a nice listing of possible upgrades not knowing which CPU you currently have installed.

This appears to be old information. I need the latest CPU's and their compatibility with the Alienware Area 51 R2 motherboard.

What about i8 and i9? I have the factory stock default cpu that came with the unit

R2 has X99 chipset and LGA2011-v3 socket.  The X99 chipset supports both Intel Core i7 Extreme and Intel Xeon E5-16xx v3 and E5-26xx v3 processors

i9 Intel Core X-series processors requires LGA2066 socket. It is for X299 chipset on for example Area 51 R4/5 motherboard.  i9 X-series cpu is not compatible with R2 motherboard.
