Area 51 R1 Aurora R1 and R3 liquid pump
A51 R1 and Aurora R1 liquid pump retention ring/back plate are highly similar. The pump have different DP/N.

Cass may know this. Can the Aurora R1 liquid pump be a plug n play replacement for A51 R1?
I would like to know whether the retention LGA1155 ring of Aurora R3 could be a direct upgrade of A51 R1 LGA1366 ring to use the R1 liquid pump on a LGA115# motherboard, but this will only work assuming the R1 and R3 Asetek oem liquid pump head use identical pump head design when coupling with the retention ring.

Can AurR1 AIO be plug n play replacement for 51R1? Yes, but the Aurora 7pin coolers have an aluminum coldplate while 51 5pins have the better copper coldplate, so they're a downgrade, in a sense
For retention ring kits you normally buy direct from Asetek. But if we just said that the pump mounting design ("geometry" "size" of the "claw spacing") is the same for all Aurora R1-R4 coolers (& likely the A51 R2-R7 pumps have same circular geometry) then it's just a matter of having the correct socket retention, where, I can install an AurR1 cooler into a R1 R7, or maybe on newer AurR15. Maybe I put R15 cooler on my R1 1366 board, since the claws & grooves all still match & align between circular pump & 1366 retention ring

Confused on the Area 51 R1 vs Aurora R1 liquid pump again. A seller sent me these pic. DP/N are c/w Aurora R1. But pump has 5 pin for A51 R1. Cass may know why?

It looks like an A51 owner likely had a W550R cooler that failed & purchased an Aurora cooler & transferred the 5pin onto it afterwards by necessity
Almost 100% of the SrvcTags report a W550R, & rarely a K7JKG
In the end, copper base = A51, aluminum = Aur
