Area-51 AAT2250, how many storage drives?
The Alienware Area-51 Gaming Desktop looks nice. It will be even more impressive once a 5090 is offered. Review of the product manual shows that there are three M.2 SSD connections in the motherboard. Are these all able to be M.2 2280 or does one have to be M.2 2230? I would like to put in the longest SSD drives possible. I also see that there is room for two 2.5 inch drives and one 3.5 inch drive.
thanks

Scrolling down on this page to see the Mobo, you'll see that all three are 2280, 2 are Gen4, and one is Gen5

Why does the specification state "up to 2 TB" for the main SSD? Is this BIOS and not UEFI? or is that just what is being sold? Could a bigger drive be put in place in the future?

@Florida32 That is what has been validated. Capacity will be whatever current capacity of drives is.

@Vanadiel
thanks! I wanted to make sure that if I got this computer that I could put in a 4 tb gen 5 boot drive. It seems like that would work. The only thing that would prevent this is if it is BIOS and not UEFI. Doubt that it would be BIOS in 2025

@Florida32 The only thing with this is the screw and stand-off. In the past if memory server me correctly Dell does not include them unless you order it with the drive(s) installed.
You had to purchase them separately afterwards.
You might want to check on that when you receive the system.

And the same goes for power cables on a modular power supply. They only supply as per what you ordered. If you need the rest you will have to order them separately afterwards.
As opposed to retail modular power supplies that comes with all cables in a bag...
