Area-51 AAT2250, AlienFX lighting doesn't initialize properly on POST. "Unknown USB Device"

I have all updated software and BIOS 1.8.0 and FW/DR from SupportAssist. On my system, the AlienFX lighting for the tower is intermittent. Sometimes on POST something happens where Windows then doesnt see it and it shows as an Unknown USB Device. The AWCC AlienFX software then can't change the lighting of the tower. To fix it, I have to either run a repair of AlienFX software, or try a cold or warm reboot and hope it works. There must be a USB timing issue somewhere causing it.

I want to add that I troubleshooted this system and drained flea power, reseated the AlienFX cables, etc. It doesn't appear to be a hardware issue, since reinstalling AlienFX software fixes it temporarily until the next reboot. I expected better from a $6k+ system that I bought and expect the lighting to all work properly with no issues.

You can follow the steps below to check:
【1. Update the USB driver:---------
1). Click the search icon in the taskbar, enter Device Manager, and click Apps in the results.
2). Select the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section to expand it, right-click the first controller, and select Update Driver.
3). Now select the first option, Search for drivers automatically
4). If the system finds a new driver, it will install the new driver. If your computer already have the latest drivers, you can also click and search Windows Update for updated drivers.
5) Then the computer will enter the Windows Update menu. Click Advanced Options.
6) Now select optional updates. If you find any driver related updates, select and install them.
2. Change the USB power settings:----------------
1) Click the search icon on the taskbar, enter Control Panel, and select Applications from the results.
2) Select Power Options.
3) Click on Change plan settings for the power plan.
4) Now select Change advanced power settings.
5) Next, click on USB Settings, expand USB Selective Suspend setting and change it to Disabled.

This has all been done. All those steps in the past. In fact I had to unhide the selective suspend option due to the OEM OS had it hidden. None of those steps make any difference. On warm reboots most of the time the lights are recognized. It is mostly on cold starts/boots. There is a timing issue or something with this latest BIOS with USB devices especially the lighting. It cant be fixed by windows OS changes as the issue is before windows loads. Alienware engineers need to look at reproducing issue and fix it in a new BIOS/firmware for the AlienFX board.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? It still happens mostly on cold boots. Even with no USB devices plugged into back except for my Alienware Pro keyboard and Pro mouse. No USB devices plugged in at top of chassis.

@dffsdfsdfds I can't get my RGB to be controlled at all using the latest version of AWCC.  However I see no USB errors as you indicate.  Something between the software and the hardware is not communicating properly.  Sad for a $6K machine.

I encountered this issue before using MOKiN's hub, and after testing, it worked. You can also try to see if it can make your device work properly.
