Alienware settings or Nvidia settings?
Has anyone had any conflict(s) with the Alienware control settings and the Nvidia settings for programs and/or games?

I was also worried about this, but I decided to install the Nvidia app anyway. I don't actually see how they would interfere. The Nvidia app controls the game graphical settings, while Alienware Control Center is just the system CPU/GPU power settings.

@Stargazing Dog I figured I would ask here because, at times, I get random black screens for 10 -20 seconds when clicking on random things. Also, parts of screens of programs can go partially black and if I minimize it and then maximize it then its fine. This does not happen that frequently but it's getting sickening, Nvidia support was of no help whatsoever. I thought there may be a conflict between the two.

@Soggins This is a known issue with some Nvidia GPUs and the more recent video drivers. I have had it happen in the past, myself.
Nvidia just released a new driver today that fixes several critical issues. I recommend installing those drivers. I use the Nvidia app, but you can manually install the drivers if you wish. I had been sticking with the latest Dell supplied drivers until today. I just spent all morning playing Expedition 33 on my 4070 Super, with no issues whatsoever.

@Stargazing Dog Thank you for telling me about the new driver. I hadn't noticed. I downloaded the "Studio" drivers and there are several fixes listed for black screen issues and one of them was "Random black screen issues." I wish there wasn't two different drivers because I do play games but I also do a lot with Lightroom and Photoshop. Thanks again for the help.

Good to see ya got it worked out. I saw the thread and was like I've had this issue with my R7 and RTX 2080Ti and it was ALWAYS a NVIDIA driver. I just install the gaming one, but i'm on a little bit older version since NVIDIA was having some big issues with the latest drivers.

@22GREEN I'm not convinced it's fixed yet. Time will tell. However, I opened Lightroom and there were all kinds of tearing and weird display stuff so I had to turn off using the graphics processor. That's a Lightroom issue and there's no excuse for that. It's a graphics intense program and there should be no problem with the card I'm using. They fix so many idiotic things but they can't fix that issue.

Be warned that the latest "studio driver" (at least showing in the nvidia app) is actually older, and has a critical bug that unintentionally disables temperature monitoring. It can cause fans to not work properly. Only the "game ready drivers" are new for today (and fix several critical bugs).

@Stargazing Dog That's not what it states for the Studio Driver under "What's Fixed." But, I will try the Game driver and see if that makes a difference. Thanks.
