Alienware Aurora Ryzen R10: JUNK!

I have been a Dell customer since 2002, bought 5 computers and the latest and most expensive computer purchased in May 2021 just died after a “windows update failure to reboot loop” (the Alienware R10 purchased was hardly used ). Called Dell premium service support and they had me, a layman, attempt to open up the computer like a technician! Fortunately, during this process nothing was broken and the tech support people couldn’t fix the problem (and could not help me export data off the hard drive). Now, they want me to send the computer away for diagnostics at some third party?! I tried calling customer response but more often companies do not easily allow access to this information. The rational assumption is that their customer service is just as awful as the lifespan of their new computers (by the way I had an Alienware 15 that was dropped twice, survived sand storms and worked solid for over 10 years, this new AW desktop never moved cost 5,000 dollars and stopped ticking after 4 years!) What a way to lose a loyal customer. I guess customer service does not matter to Dell. Today’s formula for many companies: make a product with garbage components, cheap labor from a certain Asian country, charge an egregious price for said product, bank on overpriced warranty and other meaningless upgrades, and when warranty expires, company walks away from any form of responsibility ,if they don’t respond to alleviate this situation, I will spam the message board until I get a satisfying response or most likely cut off any association with this company. UNACCEPTABLE! Dell

Your purchased 1 year warranty expired 2 years/5 months/3 days ago on November 20, 2022. There will be a charge for the Out of Warranty Depot repair service.

Dell asking a user to open a Desktop PC case to troubleshoot is a standard practice.

You may start a private/direct message with us and we will be happy to assist you with any other questions.

Hi

(and could not help me export data off the hard drive)

If it was me, I would want my 48 character code to decrypt my drive, should be in your MS account.

Then consider adding the drive to another working machine and extract my data.

Rebuild and re-install OS, add in my Back-Up.

OR

Use another OS, make and boot from a LIVE LINUX MINT usb, use the BitLocker key to access my data, back it up, and then re-install and rebuild to factory fresh.

If in doubt please ask.

After it fails to boot 3 times in a row it should start in safe mode.

Does it start in safe mode? If it does, does it boot into Windows in safe mode?

Windows safe boot
