Alienware Area 51 Chassis Sale?

HP sells just the Omen 45L chassis alone for gamers who want to spec and build their own PC. Will Alienware follow HP and sell just the Area 51 case?

HP is HP.  Dell has never officially put on sale empty high end pc on its sales page.  but empty oem Dell chassis should be available via third party.

often the chassis is made somewhere and then shipped to another factory for assembly.  in between there is stock surplus sold to other parties sometimes.

Yes, I also really wish Dell would offer the AW systems with minimal custom builds.

I have to admit......this A51 is a nice step up from Dell.

I watched Steve Burke's 2024 case review and I am extremely impressed with the Fractal North XL. It is a gorgeous Full-Tower case with a wood grain front grill. He gave it the Arward for the best overall case for 2024.

I am waiting for a restock of the 9800X3D. Too bad Dell/Alienware have a marriage with Intel cause the Ultra7/9 Series are very disappointing.

@RodsterB

Yes, even I as a Wintel guy, have to concede Intel is really stumbling after Alder Lake (which is what I run and is rock solid).

AMD's X3Dd is very impressive, no doubt about it.

I'm not so sure it's all around better than Intel but with games it sure is.

There are a lot of nice cases out there but this A51 is right up my alley!

@Element115s4 That is a pretty slick case but so is the Fractal North XL

If you guys have any recommendations regarding the build. let me know!

I just begin my build. Amazon just got a restock of the Ryzen 9800X3D. I picked it up for $479. I plan on pairing it up with the following:

1 - ASUS TUF Gaming B650 Mobo w/ Wifi

2 - Corsair Vengeance DDR5 2x16GB @ 6000Mhz CL36-44-44-96. I was thinking about getting similar Vengeance sticks @ 6400Mhz but the timings were a little higher CL36-48-4-104.

"let me know if you guys think I should stay with the 6000 DDR5?"

3 - Seasonic Vertex GX-1000w. I'm undecided whether to go with an RTX 5080 or the upcoming AMD Radeon GPU's but this will give me some headroom.

4 - Artic MX-4 thermal paste (non conductive)

5 - Corsair Nautilus 360 RS liquid cooler.

6 - Fractal North XL Full Tower ATX Case

I should be well below $3000 for a quality build. I already have a spare Gen 4x4 1TB Samsung NVME stick.

If I decide on the RTX 5080, my entire build will cost me $2220 plus tax, graphics card included. If I decide on AMD's upcoming Radeon gaming GPU's that rumors suggest will match RTX 4080 performance then the entire build will drop well below $2000.

Shame really that Alienware did not announce a Ryzen version for sale.

I very much like my Lian Li Lancool II Mesh. Likely the easiest case I ever worked with. No sharp edges, can be completely opened up to access everything and it has some of the best cable management I have ever seen.

I have purchased several Lian Li cases in the last 15 years. One of their biggest selling points was that they were stylish. The Fractal North XL looks different and started the front wood grain look and trend. I like it that a lot. Steve Burke made the comment in his review that the FNXL is a case that is super easy to work on with tons of room.

I found DDR5 6000Mhz 64GB kit(2x32GB) CL30-36-36-76 ram. So I'll be going with that.

@RodsterB

That does look very similar to the new AW A51, very nice.

I think I do have to stress that part of the allure is not just the case but the Dell support and backing that comes along with it (I do miss my Intel Boards).

That said, can't really blame somebody going AMD X3D with a case you mentioned and get the EXACT components they want.
