Hi Chris, any idea why this model is named AAT2250?

No clue on why they chose that in the name. I would have called it, Area-51 R8.

to name it R8 might imply continuing down the triad path.  Dell has already had 6 iterations of triad (three Intel and three AMD)

triad 1.0: R2, 3, 4

triad 2.0: R5, 6, 7

AMD: R3, 6 (same mobo in different case), R7

Intel X99: R2

Intel X299: R4, R5 (same mobo in different case)

6 iteration is good enough, considering what Apple has done in Power Mac G5 (14 iterations)

AAT may refer to Area 51 Advanced Technology

2250 may refer to model released in 2025 and Dell likes to end the model with a 0 for Intel series

predict next in line is AAT2260 next year.

What is unfortunate is the AAT2250 (strange name that wants to imitate Nvidia RTX####) chassis is not iconic, although there are a number of air flow improvements.

when I open up a 2004 Power Mac G5 21 years later, I am still awed.  That is an iconic case.
