Add them on LinkedIn! LinkedIn is a great tool to stay connected with your mentee/mentor after the session. When sending a connection request, it can be helpful to add a small note about where you met (the Soar with MENTOR program). Ideally, it’s best to send this connection request within 24-48 hours, when the session is still fresh in both people’s minds.

Once you’re connected on LinkedIn, it can be helpful to send a follow-up message that

• Expresses appreciation
  "Thank you for the great conversation at the event. I really enjoyed hearing about your work in [industry/topic]."
• References a key point
  "I found your insights on [specific topic] very helpful. I'd love to discuss more about how you're approaching [related topic]."
• Suggests next steps
  "It would be great to stay connected. Would you be open to a quick coffee or virtual meeting sometime next week to continue the conversation?"
